Injectables have seen a steady growth in popularity in the past five years. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic surgery says the increase percentage is estimated at around 40.6%.
This is in part because developers have advanced the science and moved the procedures from an expensive and inconvenient trip to a cosmetic surgeon’s office, to a quick, pleasant and accessible session at a medical spa or wellness centre. They have also eliminated the need of going under the knife which is appealing to so many people.
Probably the most famous example and the go-to example many use when seeking to improve the aspect of their lips is Kylie Jenner, the youngest of the Karadshians who is famous for her lip fillers. So famous that in fact, as many as 44% of women surveyed in a recent poll reveal to wanting the look of ‘Kylie Jenner’ lips, with another 17% says they appreciate the look of big, plump lips in general.
Boosting the appearance of lips is now part of the self-care package
The procedures are now approachable, and social media platforms such as Instagram makes them accessible to everyone, anywhere in the world in a matter of seconds. This has now turned lip fillers into a must-have in everyone’s self-care package, similar to how one would brush their teeth to keep them white or apply foundation.
