DansonOsborne Accountants Help Clients To Understand The Numbers Behind Their Business
DansonOsborne Accountants understand that during these uncertain times, our clients are anxious about what the future will hold for their business. The main concern revolves around remaining financially stable during the crisis, but there are also concerns about how their business will cope once ‘normality’ of being able to trade returns.

We want our clients to have an understanding of the numbers and are happy to answer all questions our clients may have. It is important that we ensure clients feel comfortable asking us anything; there is no such thing as a silly question.

We do not expect our clients to understand accounts and taxation fully, just as our clients would not expect us to understand fully the services they offer or the goods they provide.

We want to ensure our clients are ‘looked after’ and that each and everyone is made to feel important. We strive on helping our clients beyond the statutory side of accountancy and endeavour to never keep clients waiting. We will always return a phone call or reply to an email as soon as possible.

DansonOsborne Accountants understand that during these uncertain times, our clients are anxious about what the future will hold for their business. The main concern revolves around remaining financially stable during the crisis, but there are also concerns about how their business will cope once ‘normality’ of being able to trade returns.

Are sales in place for clients to continue trading immediately? Will there be a slight lag in their sales? Will businesses feel as though they are starting from day one again? It is a troubling time for all, which is why we are here to help as much as possible.

Whether a client needs advice on their current cashflow situation or whether they need to know what funding is available to them, we can help advise or point them in the right direction.

Some clients simply want to know we are at the end of the phone when needed, which we are. Even if a client wants to call for a general chat, we are happy to do this. The crisis is affecting people and their businesses much more than just the figures. We recognise this.

We have attempted to help clients by keeping them informed of the current facilities available from the government. We want to ensure our clients know that help is out there and they are not alone. Hopefully, this knowledge and help will ensure our clients and their businesses are protected as much as possible.

Currently, there are a few options for financial support available. Restrictions do apply so you would need to check eligibility prior to applying:

  • 80% grant under the Job Retention Scheme
  • 80% grant under the self-employment income support scheme
  • Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme
  • Universal Credit
  • Business Interruption Loan Scheme
  • VAT payments deferred for three months
  • Business Rates Relief for nurseries
  • Business Rate Relief for retail, hospitality and leisure businesses
  • Small Business Grant Fund
  • Leisure, hospitality, and leisure Grant Fund
  • Deferment of self-assessment payments
  • Corporate Financing Facility

In addition to the financial support available listed above, we would suggest that anyone having financial difficulty during this time should contact their suppliers, their bank and HMRC, if required.

Some suppliers are offering a ‘holiday period’ which would help most individuals and businesses instantly. Most if not all mortgage companies are offering a three month holiday period and some landlords have been equally as helpful for some of our clients. Some suppliers are offering a freeze in their subscriptions and even though it may not seem like much of a current saving, every penny counts!

Contact your bank as some are offering 0% overdraft facilities for a short period of time. They may also be able to help with a short term loan.

If you are unable to pay your tax liability on time, contact HMRC. They will be able to help, whether it be to set up a payment plan or to simply inform them of your situation, this will help.

Whilst it can be difficult to make contact, it is worthwhile in doing so.

We at DansonOsborne Accountants want to help our clients. If you are interested in becoming a client, do contact us to see how we can help. An initial email is the first step to getting the help you need.
