New Self-Care Calendar by Essentialise Receives Worldwide Recognition

The calendar was designed to celebrate the launch of Wellbeing Lancashire
A mental health calendar designed for October has been downloaded in 31 countries.

With the COVID pandemic still prevalent in many people minds, and the challenges in the Northern Hemisphere of colder and darker nights, mental health is becoming a concern for organisations and business. The underlying anxiety caused by the pandemic is being heightened as more countries tighten their movement and social policies.

With these challenges in mind, Lee Chambers of Essentialise Workplace Wellbeing has designed a calendar to coincide with World Mental Health Day. Featuring a curated self-care tip for each day of the month, the calendar has been extremely popular, including being downloaded in 31 countries, and widely shared on social media.

The calendar, which was published with the collaboration of Wellbeing Lancashire, is part of a series to bring actionable, small changes and advice to those struggling, and build resilience during the turbulent times we face. The daily challenges are designed to promote gratitude, cultivate kindness, build self-awareness and generate moments of joy.

We asked Lee Chambers about the inspiration for the calendar, and he replied “We are facing a mental health crisis in the future and moving into winter here in the UK is going to cause many people to hibernate and feel isolated. This month I have a number of events around mental health and wellbeing, including roundtables with Napthens Solicitors and talks at Digital Lancashire. I wanted to create a colourful, easy to access and visible way to help people, and as a Founder of Wellbeing Lancashire, this is one of my missions.”

On reflection, we certainly agree that a colourful calendar is a proactive way of getting people engaged in wellbeing and is a valuable tool to share with others. Lee advised that he intends to make a calendar for every month, so we are excited for the release of the November edition.
