New Library System (Al Hikma) Initiative by Anouar Association
With its mission to support the community, particularly the underprivileged children in Ait Faska, Marrakech, the Anouar Association for Development and Solidarity is proud to announce its library’s launching integrated with a sophisticated and trending technology called LMS (Library Management System).
Due to the current situation and safety, people cannot go out or stay outside their homes for an extended time. But the Anouar Association is not discouraged from serving the people in Ait Faska. It perseveres to help the people, particularly the children in the field of education.
The association believes that the future is in the children’s hands, and every child deserves to be educated and get the opportunity to improve their potential. The association endeavors to deliver effective education and healthcare to nurture the aptitude of these children. Previously, Anouar Association established library for the underprivileged children, and it has been supporting and providing study assistance to these children. In pursuit of improving Ait Faska residents’ access to education, the association has decided to set up Al Hikma library.
LMS is an online solution to manage books according to different categories and provide easy access and monitoring of borrowing and returning books. The residents of Ait Faska can easily find the books they need in just one click through their computers or mobile phones while in their homes. They can filter their search according to the book’s name, author/s, year the book was published, language, genre, etc. There is no need to be in a long queue and ask the librarian or manually browsing the long aisle of bookshelves to find books. The LMS registration is free, and the members can reserve a book by their login board and make their reservation for the book. Once the book is reserved, they can get it released by visiting the library and return to their home.
The LMS of the Anouar Association Book Library utilizes the latest software version and has a major multilingual feature supporting 11 different languages. It also supports seven currencies.
With LMS’s help, the admin/managers of the database can control circulations of the books and be able to inform the members regarding Issue/Reserve days, return dates, and late returns of the books. Both the admin and the members will be duly notified if the book is due. Anouar Association believes that LMS will be an efficient and sensible companion for managing the library. It supports E-book functionality; therefore, the members can also read the book’s content online.
“The future and betterment of a nation are in the hands of the youth,” according to Mr. Mohamed Dekkak, Chairman of the Anouar Association. “And with the introduction of LMS to our library, finding and reading informative books will not become a significant concern in Ait Faska,” he added.
“Good education is a priceless gift a person can attain, especially the children. And with the help of LMS, learning will be more cost-effective to the students as well as on our operating cost through managing the library online,” said Mr. Mustapha Janan, Secretary in Anouar Association.
