2020 “Focus on Zhejiang” International Culture Exchange Week launched

On December 4th, the 2020 “Focus on Zhejiang” International Culture Exchange Week organized by Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism were launched in Shaoxing, an ancient city. By holding a series of events, the 2020 “Focus on Zhejiang” International Culture Exchange Week will fully display the achievements of international culture exchange in Zhejiang and build a culture exchange platform for the people all over the world to better understand Chinese culture and Picturesque Zhejiang.

In recent years, under the leadership of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, lots of cultural and tourism institutions, universities, scientific research institutions, cultural institutions, non-government organizations, industry parks, and characteristic towns have carried out a wide range of projects and cultural exchanges events to create a cultural communication road with characteristics of the times, China and Zhejiang around the construction of “Cultural Zhejiang” and “Picturesque Zhejiang”.

The Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City

Last June, our province launched the construction of the “Zhejiang International Culture Exchange Base”, focusing on international exchanges and cooperation, cultural overseas dissemination and international image to build a number of culture exchange bases with Zhejiang characteristics, representing China’s image and with international influence, making it a great display to “Zhejiang in the Global Eye” to promote our province build a high-level “Belt and Road” international culture exchange hub.

Wuzhen

At present, seven institutions were listed as the first batch of provincial-level international culture exchange bases and were officially awarded at the launching ceremony of the 2020 “Focus on Zhejiang” International culture Exchange Week. They are China National Silk Museum, Wuzhen Scenic Spot, Zhejiang Wanli University, Yiwu Jimingshan Community, Zhejiang Normal University, Wenzhou Overseas Publicity Center and The Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City. According to the organizer, more than high-standard 50 international culture exchange bases will be built in our province by the end of 2025.
