Now On Kickstarter, An Inclusive New Children’s Book

Now seeking community support via Kickstarter, the anticipated sequel to the diverse children’s book, “Let’s Talk! A Story of Autism and Friendship”.

Lisa Jacovsky, an Early Intervention Child Development Specialist and self-published author based in North Brunswick, NJ, has announced an exciting new crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for her latest children’s novel. The book, titled “Let’s Talk! And Go to The Zoo”, is the sequel to her first novel, “Let’s Talk! A Story of Autism and Friendship”. The story continues with its previous two characters, Harper and Emma, as they enjoy a day at the Zoo — where they also come across two new characters.

Jacovsky was inspired to create the “Let’s Talk!” series in an effort to promote diversity and inclusion in children’s novels. For this reason, both stories tackle issues surrounding the challenges Emma faces due to her autism, with the second novel focusing on bullying. Furthermore, each character represents a different culture and ethnicity: Harper is African American, Emma is Indian, and the two new characters will be Puerto Rican and Asian.

With a total goal of $4,000, funds gathered through the campaign will be used to pay the full cost of self-publishing, including editing, printing, promotion and more. Early backers can pledge $5 for a copy of the first “Let’s Talk!” book — which normally retails for $17.99 — or $25 for a copy of the first and second book until the campaign’s deadline of January 5, 2021
