Eric S. Heninger’s board certification is an emblem of HGD’s steadfast dedication to serving the public’s legal needs. He specializes in Civil Trial Law.

Heninger Garrison Davis (HGD) law firm attorney Erik S. Heninger has successfully achieved board certification as a civil trial law advocate, marking his commitment to providing top-notch legal support in his specialty area. Undergoing a rigorous screening of credentials by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (NBTA), Heninger attested to his competency and expertise in the practice of trial law.

“Approximately three percent of American lawyers are board-certified, and Erik is a member of a very select group who has taken the time to prove competence in his profession and earn board certification,” said Tim Davis, HGD managing partner.

Identified as the only distinction granted by non-profit organizations, board certification is the highest and most definitive honor an attorney can receive. Board-certifying organizations, such as NBTA, grant the distinction to safeguard the public’s ability to choose a good attorney.

In addition to NBTA’s distinction, Heninger was also named one of the top 50 lawyers in Alabama and is “AV Preeminent” rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible distinction bestowed by professional peers and judges.

Firmly believing that serving in state and national bar associations is vital to be a holistic lawyer, Heninger actively engages in the American Association of Justice (AAJ), where he teaches trial advocacy and litigation techniques to lawyers across the country. He also currently serves as an officer in the Alabama Association of Justice (ALAJ); an elected member of the Board of Bar Commissioners for the Alabama State Bar; a member of the Birmingham Bar Executive Committee since 2016; and a member of the Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, The Trial Lawyer Honorary Society, and the Order of Juris. In 2013, he was also inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).

Heninger earned his undergraduate degree from Birmingham Southern College and graduated from Cumberland School of Law where he received his Juris Doctor degree in 2001. At present, he is licensed to practice in Alabama, Georgia, and Mississippi. With his profession, Heninger propels his passion to help victims of catastrophic injuries such as brain and spine damage. He also represents individuals and businesses in civil litigation.

Heninger is a founding partner of leading law firm HGD, which provides wise counsel and creative solutions to intricate legal cases on personal injury and consumer class action. HGD attorneys are also counselors and advisors representing hope and a chance to resume normalcy.
