PRODUCT DETAILS

The BackFree™ is a wedge-shaped traction cushion that relieves low back pain while lying down. It is made of resilient polyurethane foam, gently stretches the spine and muscles, and can be used at home on a bed.

It is an easy product to use, is comfortable, does not stress any other muscle groups while being used, and will benefit anyone who suffers from low back pain.

The BackFree™ is a simple, inexpensive way to get gentle, but effective, traction to the low back in the comfort and convenience of a patient’s home. Simply place The BackFree™ on the foot of a bed and hang lower legs down. The springy nature of the specially selected foam is designed to maximize the stretching effect, while supporting the hips and knees. The rounded edge of the BackFree™ provides comfort, and the lower legs pull down the upper legs and pelvis toward the foot of the bed. This stretches the lower back with gentle traction and eases pain.

During active periods, discs are under pressure and fluid may be squeezed out, causing spaces between the discs to become smaller. When activity ceases (sleeping) and the pressure is off, discs can reabsorb the fluid (containing healthy nutrients) that was lost during the day. As a person ages, the vertebrae get closer together, causing nerve roots to rub against them, which causes back and leg pain. It has been proven that using the BackFree™ for 20 minutes before going to bed can relieve the pain and jump-start the natural restorative process that occurs while sleeping.

This easy method can be used to treat many different painful low back conditions, such as lumbar nerve compression, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, sciatica and pinched nerves. This treatment is gentle and comfortable enough for elderly patients as well as other age groups, who suffer from back pain and other health conditions when traction would be considered as a treatment method.
