Qiandao Lake scenic area in Chun’an county, Hangzhou announced on Jan 30 that it will offer free entry to local residents and migrant workers from Feb 1 to 28.

The announcement was an answer to the government’s call to reward residents and migrant workers who choose to stay in Zhejiang province to help prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 during the Spring Festival holiday.

The free entry will come into effect for people in these groups that hold a health code showing green and who have not been out of Zhejiang for the 14 days prior to their visit to Qiandao Lake. Zhejiang residents visiting the scenic area should take with them their ID cards, while migrant workers who live in Hangzhou China should take both their ID cards and residence permits.

Qiandao Lake scenic area has put forward four distinctive travel routes featuring health, sports, cultural, and rural elements.

Qiandao Lake, which literally means “thousand-islet lake,” derives its name from the 1,078 islets dotted within its waters. Being a reservoir that was formed after the construction of the Xin’an River Hydroelectric Power Station, it contains more islets than any other lake in the world. It is now considered a tourism area and a popular spot for holiday homes.
