Inspire Change Wellness is a five star addiction healing centre for Men.  This Centre has fitness facilities, Yoga classes and Gourmet chef meals.  It aims to treat the Body, Mind and Soul.  Alcohol rehab treatment can be expensive so a treatment is deemed cost-effective if it produces long-lasting results.  The cost can range from $2000 to $25,000.  Most insurance covers alcohol and drug addiction treatment.  Medical and psychological support is needed at the initial withdrawal from alcohol stage.  New healthier habits are then established at this time to replace the habits that involved drinking.  12-Step-Programs can offer free on-going support once the withdrawal and now not drinking stage has been completed.  Addiction Therapists will decide whether an inpatient or outpatient alcohol rehab treatment is needed on an individual basis.

“Support is needed to stop drinking,” says a spokesperson for Inspire Change Wellness.  “Physically the withdrawal can cause Delirium Tremens, known as the DT’s. These can be fatal.  Without support drinking can also become a way of treating the withdrawal symptoms.  This just escalates the risk of bodily injury to the liver and the brain.”

The Combining Medications and Behavioural Interventions for Alcohol Dependence (COMBINE) study showed that the newer alcohol addiction treatment medications Revia and Vivitrol (naltrexone) used in alcohol rehab were not enough. These drugs needed to be combined with an intervention medical management program and alcohol counselling of sometimes as many as 20 sessions to be a viable alcohol recovery treatment.

“The reason Inspire Change Wellness is a Men only treatment facility is that there are gender specific cultural issues like family provider stress and not wanting to appear vulnerable needs to be addressed,” says a spokesman for Inspire Change Wellness.  “Also in co-ed alcohol rehab situation fragile romantic relationships form as two vulnerable individuals try to focus on comforting each other rather than dealing with their drinking issue.”
