New Delhi, India – March 21, 2023 – Psoriasis, a serious autoimmune disease, affects 125 million people globally, with 70% of patients facing social discrimination, according to a survey by the World Health Organization (WHO). This chronic condition severely impacts patients’ quality of life and takes a toll on their mental, emotional, social, and economic well-being. While treatment can improve symptoms and significantly enhance quality of life, many people struggle to afford medications like Apremilast due to its high cost, with apremilast cost over $3,000 per month.

In India, where 33 million people suffer from psoriasis, patients have access to the apremilastgeneric India named Aprezo, for just Rs 6,000 per month since 2017. While the safety profile of generic Apremilast and other similar drugs has been established through clinical trials and post-marketing surveys, it is important to continue monitoring their efficacy, according to Dr. Sushil Tahiliani, a dermatologist in Mumbai.

Many overseas patients who cannot afford brand-name medications come to India or in search of affordable treatment of apremilast price in India. Despite their struggles, psoriasis patients fight against social discrimination and remain hopeful for new treatments and a more inclusive society. In addition to medical treatment, empathy and support are crucial for patients to feel confident and comfortable in their skin.
