An Inspiring Documentary on the Stories of Porters launches Kickstarter Campaign
“On the Shoulders of the Karakoram: Stories of Porters” is an inspiring new documentary about the porters from Askole, Pakistan. The film features the untold protagonists behind the climbs of the Karakoram mountain range. Moreover, it covers their lifeblood behind the historic climbs of the Karakoram chain in Pakistan. To release this documentary, its creators have recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, and they are welcoming generous support and backing.
“As we approach the 70th anniversary of K2’s inaugural summit, our project aims to shine a light on the porters’ stories against the awe-inspiring backdrop of majestic nature and towering mountains,” said Igor Malgrati, the filmmaker behind this project, while introducing this project to the Kickstarter community. “We are welcoming everyone to support our journey to create a documentary that pays tribute to the porters’ narratives, deepening our understanding of mountaineering with genuine stories of resilience and courage,” he added.
